Each design can be placed in any sequence, either individually or in multiples, repeated and/or re‑ordered to suit the proportions and narrative needs of any interior design project. Provisions can also be made to adjust the heights of the scenic wallcovering for taller‑than‑tall rooms, and for very special projects, shift ground colours, reconfiguring the scenic’s architecture with ease. This flexibility offers a premium yet efficient and playful route to bespoke outcomes — enabling each installation to feel entirely unique while maintaining the cohesive identity the Mount Horai design universe inspires.

The narrative behind Mount Horai is inspired by ancient Japanese folklore of the same name, dating back thousands of years through oral history and village tales. In this story, a mountain is said to appear in the mist only when enlightenment has been reached — a metaphor for clarity, transcendence, and inner expansion. On this great mount, incredible flowers and wild beasts grow and live, made of diamonds and rare jewels. The slopes of this remarkable mountain not only symbolise the freedom and possibility design brings to our lives, but also served as a rich starting point from which to gain inspiration to motivate the design and its huge multiplicity. The scenic opens up environments into a world beyond, inviting viewers into a mythic horizon that evokes harmony, imagination, and a sense of boundless space.
